Dear Delegate,
Please vote YES on SB1043 to increase mental health resources in public schools.
Mental Health resources do not meet the growing need in our public schools. The pandemic has caused greater anxiety and even mental illness in some of our children. The loss of loved ones, required remote learning, isolation, and return to school are among the stressors that are causing a mental health crisis in our schools, according to the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission of the General Assembly. They quantified the problem and recommended substantially more attention and resources for mental health in public schools to address this problem, which this bill will do.
Sincerely,
