Inflation

Trump promised to lower costs on Day One, but once elected, gave up as TOO difficult. Trump's across-the-board tariffs, even on things America doesn’t produce, unnecessarily raise prices and kill jobs, hurting struggling working families the worst.

Crime

Trump claims to be Amerca’s top crime fighter, but BBB alone DEFUNDS our POLICE by billions. Worse, $50,000 ICE signing bonuses will hollow-out local police forces, weakening the fight against violent crime. Occupying cities with military, neither trained nor authorized to police, looks strong but is actually wasteful & ineffective, misusing our military as personal political pawns, robbing funds & officers from REAL policing. Trump reneged on his bump stock ban, effectively putting machine guns on our streets & in our schools.

Education

Trump promised to give control over public schools to localities by abolishing DOE, but localities never LOST local control. DOE offers desperately needed funding to schools that can’t cover mandated costs by property taxes alone. BBB guts public school funding to pay for huge tax credits for upper middle class to send kids to elite charter schools, not even an option in most rural areas.

Eviscerating FEMA leaves us helpless after catastrophes, especially in Blue states Trump refuses to help.

Energy

Trump promised cheaper energy, but the cheapest, fastest way to boost energy supply is solar & wind, that create many new good-paying union jobs, which Trump's BBB is killing. Elon Musk criticized Trump's BBB for hurting US competitiveness, especially in energy. “It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future,” ceding our future to China.

Environment Trump's denial of Global Warming/Extreme Weather, firing scientists and gutting data & resources needed to monitor and mitigate it, will cost far more lives and $'s in the long run, increasing food prices and ceding global economic & energy leadership to China. Eviscerating FEMA leaves us helpless after catastrophes, especially in Blue states Trump refuses to help; that’s totally immoral.

Farming

Trump boasts that rural America is Trump Country, having won it by 40 points over Harris in 2024. But retaliatory tariffs against Trump’s tariffs are killing long-cultivated U.S. export markets.; 90% of first-term Trump tariffs went to subsidize failing farmers. Farmers took pride in feeding the world thru Eisenhower’s Food for Peace, our most cost-effective global diplomacy, but "chain-sawing" USAID lost farmers billions more. Trump’s mass deportations lose hardworking undocumented taxpayers essential to running farms.

ICE ignores due process, detaining & deporting legal residents, even citizens, like birthright citizens.

Immigration

Trump said he would target violent criminals but ICE mostly detains & deports hard-working, law-abiding undocumented tax payers, devastating millions of farms & businesses. Rural health clinics are closing due to Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill.’

Healthcare

Trump promised “not to touch” Medicare or Medicaid, but Republican insistence that BBB [his budget bill] only “cuts waste” via a work requirement is a CON: Arkansas had to repeal its own work requirement as counterproductive, onerous “red tape” that kicks off many rightful recipients but NOT cut waste. Deep BBB cuts to Medicaid & Obamacare shift costs to the rest of us, boosting our premiums and shutting hospitals & clinics, especially rural ones. Delaying CUTS to after midterms, Republicans hope voters won’t notice the CON! But slashing BioMed R&D surrenders to cancer just when mRNA research promises major breakthroughs. Unscientific anti-vaccine ideology leaves us defenseless in the next pandemic and resurrects conquered diseases to plague us. Masses will get sick, even die, needlessly.

Security/Safety

Trump bragged he could end the war in Ukraine on Day One, but is easily duped by Putin. Trump's obsession with personal revenge guts DOJ, FBI, CIA, IRS of experienced veterans needed to fight terrorism, cybercrime, financial crime & tax evasion, leaving us defenseless against catastrophic terrorist & cyberattacks and gutting tax revenues, forcing ever more painful spending cuts.

Reproductive Rights

Trump claims he leaves the issue of abortion access to the states. Virginia is the only southern state where abortion is still legal, but to be enshrined in VA’s Constitution, it must be passed a second time by VA’s next General Assembly. Trump will probably try to shutdown abortion & even contraception nationally by simply calling on the DOJ to enforce the 1873 Comstock Act AFTER the 2026 midterms, so enshrining the right in Virginia’s Constitution is more important than ever. Even many pro-life voters believe the decision belongs to women and their doctors and don’t want women denied life-saving medical care due to litigation fears.

Taxes

The GOP’s Greatest CON. Why is it so much harder to achieve the American Dream? Since Reagan’s 1981 Tax Cut, Republicans’ Trickle-down Tax CON transferred OVER $50 Trillion from the lower 90% to top 1%, where it's mostly sheltered from tax, shifting the tax burden to working families. Trump's BBB (Big Bad Betrayal) transfers even more wealth to the top and guts IRS ability to audit & tax the wealthy, devastating our tax base. Trump’s condoning & pardoning rich tax cheats (many donors) is super corrupt and forces cuts in essential services that working families rely on.

Republicans insist that BBB helps average workers, but 70% of its tax cuts go to the top 20% of earners. Tax Cuts for corporations & rich are permanent, but NO Tax on Tips and Social Security expires in a few years.

No Tax on Tips ONLY covers 1 in 40 workers who receive tips, less than 4 million maximum,
No Tax on Tips is capped at $25,000; but almost 40% of tipped workers don't earn enough with tips to pay income tax now,
No Tax on Tips ONLY covers income tax (which almost 40% don’t pay now) NOT payroll taxes, which ALL must pay.
No Tax on Tips applies to cash tips -- historically, these tips are grossly under-reported, so tax is NOT being paid already.
No Tax on Tips/Social Security expires in 2028 (tax cuts for corporations/rich are permanent), a CON to get worker votes. Nothing exposes Trump/MAGA’s CON of Working Families better than the Great Republican Trickle-Down TAX CON since 1981 and now, the new over-hyped but grossly underdelivering No-Tax-on-Tips Tax CON bullet-pointed above.
